ICE Takes Aim At Massachusetts In Latest Escalation | HuffPost Latest News

The agency’s recent push follows an ICE surge in Massachusetts in May dubbed “Operation Patriot,” which saw agents engaging in chaotic and violent arrests of local residents in places including Worcester, Nantucket and Boston. The ICE escalation also comes as the Trump administration has clashed with Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, who has stressed that the city’s policies restrict local law enforcement’s ability to collaborate with federal agents and emphasized the city wouldn’t be backing down from these practices.Boston is one of several major cities that ICE is expected to concentrate on this fall: White House border czar Tom Homan has also said the agency plans to launch a similar onslaught in Chicago, which could come as soon as this week.Join Our Community. When you become a member, you’re not just supporting journalism – you’re shaping a future where truth matters.Immigration and Customs Enforcement is taking aim at Massachusetts as Trump administration officials have pledged to flood sanctuary cities with agents in the coming weeks.

Massachusetts School District Under Investigation for Forcing Kids to Take Graphic Sex and Gender Surveys, Ignoring Opt-Out Requests in Violation of Parental Rights | The Gateway Pundit | by Cassandra MacDonald

The allegations that Burlington ... Secretary of Education Linda McMahon in a press release about the case. “The Department will investigate this matter thoroughly and continue to resolutely defend parents’ rights.”... The allegations that Burlington violated parents’ rights by administering a survey against parents’ wishes – and particularly one that is graphic, and downright inappropriate in nature – is unconscionable,” said U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon in a press release about the case. “The Department will investigate this matter thoroughly and continue to resolutely defend parents’ rights.”The complaint, detailed in a letter by Sam Whiting, Counsel at Massachusetts Liberty Legal Center, on behalf of parents, highlights Burlington’s alleged history of pushing radical ideologies without opt-out options.Burlington Superintendent Eric Conti responded to the investigation in a statement obtained by Campus Reform, saying the district “will cooperate fully with the investigation and will respond within the time required.” He added that they look forward to resolving the matter and implementing any necessary policy changes to protect students’ rights.Screenshots of the survey questions, provided in a complaint filed by the Massachusetts Family Institute (MFI) and parents, reveal the invasive nature of the content.

The Riveras and the Right to Move: How Massachusetts Turned Family Life Into a Criminal Act – PJ Media

You can pack up your car and move from Boston to Boise, Providence to Phoenix, without filing paperwork with bureaucrats or seeking permission from state overlords. It’s so basic to our national identity that we hardly think of it. Yet in Massachusetts, that right — the right to move freely about the country — has been criminalized in one of the most shocking family court cases in recent history. Here is the constitutional bedrock Massachusetts seems eager to ignore: Traveling freely between states is a fundamental constitutional right, protected under the Privileges and Immunities Clause of Article IV and the Commerce Clause and reaffirmed by the 14th Amendment’s Due Process and Equal Protection guarantees.Yet that is exactly what Massachusetts did to the Riveras. Worse still, they didn’t just claim that the Riveras left illegally; they went so far as to lie to Texas authorities, asserting that the Riveras had “kidnapped” their own children. Imagine that: parents, never found guilty of any harm, accused of kidnapping the very children they brought into the world. In Massachusetts alone, more than 10,000 children are in state custody. Many of them, like the Rivera children, are not rescued from abusive homes but seized from intact, loving families on flimsy allegations, manufactured evidence, or outright bureaucratic spite.

Mass. becomes first state to require insurers to cover costs of COVID shots, state-recommended vaccines - The Boston Globe

Massachusetts became the first state in the country Thursday to require insurers to cover the cost of COVID shots and other inoculations recommended by state health officials, in another move to counter the Trump administration’s efforts to undo the long national consensus on vaccines. The rift was prompted by new federal limitations on who should receive COVID vaccines under Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. that have created confusion among consumers, pharmacies, and physicians and made it difficult for even those with demonstrated need to get booster shots. The insurance mandate in Massachusetts follows the Healey administration’s order Wednesday that essentially authorized COVID booster shots for everyone in Massachusetts age 5 and older. Also, Public Health Commissioner Robbie Goldstein now has the power to determine which vaccines pharmacists can administer in Massachusetts, regardless of the guidance coming out of Washington.Officials said the state-level authority would resolve concerns that led CVS Health to initially not offer COVID shots in Massachusetts and some other states this season because of the limitations recommended by the federal government. With the longtime national consensus on vaccines at risk of unraveling under changes by Kennedy, Massachusetts now expects to coordinate policy with like-minded states, with input from major medical societies and a local advisory council that evaluates the safety and efficacy of vaccines.

Trump administration begins new Ice operation in Massachusetts | Massachusetts | The Guardian

DHS and its US Immigration and Customs Enforcement arm are calling the operation Patriot 2.0, modifying the name of a May deportation surge that led to the arrest of 1,500 people in the state, according to the reports. Tensions between Wu and the Trump administration have been steadily building since March when Wu testified before Congress alongside three other Democratic mayors to defend their cities’ immigration policies – specifically so-called sanctuary city laws that limit state and local law enforcement cooperation with federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice). The Trump administration has targeted Massachusetts as its next location to begin arresting and deporting immigrants, a Department of Homeland Security official confirmed to NBC News on Saturday. The operation is expected to last several weeks, the New York Times said, quoting unnamed sources with knowledge of the matter. It was not immediately clear how many federal officers were involved in the crackdown, which comes as Chicago braces for a Trump administration ramp-up of deportations in the third-largest US city.

ICE Has Begun Immigration Crackdown in Massachusetts - The New York Times

In its statement on Saturday, the Department of Homeland Security called out Mayor Michelle Wu of Boston, who has drawn the administration’s ire for speaking out against the scale of its immigration actions. The agency has conducted a regular cadence of operations in Massachusetts. In March, ICE arrested 370 immigrants in the state, of which 165 were so-called collateral arrests, or undocumented immigrants who were not targeted but were in the area of the operation. The operation includes Boston, whose mayor has drawn the administration’s ire for speaking out against the growing scale of its immigration actions. The operation in Massachusetts began just days before the Trump administration was expected to kick off an immigration crackdown in Chicago, and as immigration arrests have ramped up in Washington.Todd Lyons, ICE’s acting director, told a Boston-area radio show in August that his agency would make its presence known in the region.
